These Early Stanley Bailey planes have a finer casting than the 20th century models making them more manageable for those who generally find the number 7’s to be a bit heavy. Their construction in general is very good with rosewood handles and super quality steel. They shouldn’t be confused with later models as these are far harder to find and ultimately carry a premium not only as a useable tool but from a collectable point. This example is in fine condition and is perfectly useable as the day it was made.
