No this blog isn’t about Brexit or the majority of halfwit politicians who quite frankly excel in incompetence. It’s not about beliefs or even opinions about what is wrong with the world but instead a positive outlook some of us people (otherwise known as plebs in political terms) have about the future.
After stumbling on BBC’s ‘Back in time at school’ presented by Sarah Cox it brought back memories of the good old days! Well not exactly but it did remind me more of the corporal punishments received for being less than obedient from the school headmaster who knew how to reduce young children into quivering wrecks. It’s not hard where Pink Floyd got their inspiration from with ‘Another brick in the wall’ but it illustrates the problems with the education system then and indeed now, the song still even has in some relevance today, especially with the thought control aspect.
There are lots of changes happening now but there always has been, some progressive some regressive but progress in the standards in living has risen, it’s fact everyone living in the civilised world knows their quality of life has improved. Youngsters of today think they know it all and got it harder, us older more experienced people were young once and also had those same thoughts, as did our forefathers (or should I say ‘forepersons’).
So as 2019 kicks off we control our own destiny not the bureaucrats, politicians not even the bottom inspectors, we can learn to improve our skills, add knowledge and become more capable. We can grow, we can expand horizons and we can be ambitious and adventurous whilst choosing to ignore those who insist on ramming their intolerant pessimistic opinions upon us.
My new years resolution is to take anything I hear with a pinch of salt and focus my attention on the good things in life.
We will continue to improve what we do here by reinvesting in the future, we will strive to find you the best used hand tools, we won’t change our friendly good nature and continue to work hard for our customers.
Lots of luck for the year ahead from the team here at Tooltique, the world is still turning round!
