Our plane stock levels in the website are currently low because they are simply selling faster than we can refurbish them at present, we do have good stocks but not enough hours in the week to keep up with demand. It’s important to us that standards are maintained and every plane has the correct attention needed to ensure it is suitable for fine woodworking.
We will endeavour to make sure our website has new stock every week of the planes but it may be some time before we can restore the plane stock levels that customers have been accustomed to, due to the production time these products take to get right.
Usually in the summer months when the workshop is super warm we get time to ease off for some much needed rest after a whole winter of graft, working 7 days a week. It’s usually a time when we restock and get ready for those winter months and to also take stock of how we can set things up in the workshops for better efficiency for the year ahead.
We have another workshop and storage space to set up so this will also take up some of our time along with the new website being developed, this is dedicated to antique tools which will fully operational at the beginning of 2021.
Lots of work but essential to develop a distinction between user tools and those that are collected by antique tool enthusiasts. It will also help those interested in the subject to gain new knowledge and bring an interesting aspect those who have considered collecting antique & collectable tools.
So please bare with us over the next couple of months, there will be plenty of vintage tools listed but may be a few less planes than normal, this is until we start getting into the autumn period and things cool down a bit in our workshops.
