Phew! what a great summer 2018 was and it seemed there were plenty of people enjoying the great outdoors taking full advantage of what was simply glorious and memorable weather. The down side usually is when we all have to work through it but it’s remarkable how the body soon adapts, although the mind tends to send mirages of cold beer glasses to the forefront of our thoughts, which if acted upon tends to result in lesser productive free time. The time shared with friends and family was a good one and productivity although very important seemed a little less as following the football and cricket I have to admit.
Restoring old tools is at the best of times is a dirty old job that keeps the bathroom shower & automatic washing machine constantly active but what with the tremendous summer of 2018 in the UK it seemed impossible at times to endure the masks and dust for long periods of time. Looking at the bright, blue sky through a cloud of dust or trying to sharpen saws through steamy glasses took its toll and resulted in a reduction of refurbished tools we had to offer.
However there were a few days we simply minimised our efforts in the workshop to revitalise ourselves for the winter ahead and build up the stock of old tools ready for the cooler weather, when we would appreciate being inside our workshop. The better weather gave me time to reflect and plan the next stages of Tooltique, where I hope, we will continue to evolve as time goes by, to genuinely serve customers with a wider selection of good old tools & enhanced UK & worldwide delivery services.
It’s exciting times, we have a good selection of collectable antique tools for the winter ahead and stacks of usable tools that once refurbished will grace any workbench when put back into good use. For every tool you see in this website there must be at least four others sitting here waiting to be prepared for sale so always keep an eye on our new in page.
